    Richard goes back to School

The Mayor of Cape Town recently honoured 10 people for their contribution in the fight against violence against women and children.

At this event, three schools were also honoured for their winning posters speaking out against violence of this nature.

Though these schools each received a cash prize for their achievements, education minister MEC Cameron Dugmore approached three artists whom each contributed a painting and agreed to provide tuition to the learners who created the winning posters. The idea is that these kids, who do not have the opportunity to take art as a subject at their schools or have access to official means that nurture their creative abilities, are given exposure, guidence and inspiration by the artists who donated their work for this cause.

The artists were Richard Scott, Beezy Bailey and George Meyer.
