In November 2006, Hout Bay Gallery auctioned off a work by Richard entitled "To Market To Market, To Buy a Fat Man", 75 x 75cm, Impasto and acrylic on canvas.
The work fetched R7000 and the proceeds went to the Good Hope Metropolitan Community Church. The Auction took place at the book launch of Moffie, by André Carl van der Merwe
