Richard Scott Blog - 14th September 2025

Monday was stay at home day and finally catch up with the real Richard Scott Pty Limited. No more Church, just art and more art. Angelique come in at 9 to do a final hand over as she is moving to greener pastures as I make a seminal move in my career.

One last moon shot.

Signing a one off unique print.

I have decided to shift the business into new projects from bronzes to large Ceramic Vases. So now its time to put a peg in the year of my art career and change direction.

Ok, so here we go let's see where the rest of the year takes us. I am gonna spend most of next week at Mervyn Gers with Richie as a birthday gift as he wants to make a tea pot. I will also be there with Frans to teach him how to make up the Large ceramic vases for me now that I know the recipe.

I also had to mix up a nice teal colour for a wooden sculpture that someone bought.

Teal Tulips.

Tuesday this week was interesting as a bright red Vespa arrived for me to paint on for the annual Woolworths Charity ball on Saturday night.

Vespa arrives.

I however popped into town. I dropped Joanne and went to the Church to do the last of the picture hanging. I however forgot the drill at home so I will have to wait till next week. I had an 11am ZOOM meeting, so I headed home but first had to stop of at the Airfield to see Richie about an aeroplane. It was nice to see him at work and see all the different aeroplanes he can now fly.

Richie showing me all the aeroplanes he flies.

And this four seater as well.

Then it was home time for a ZOOM meeting with Illios Travel as they wanted to do a second run on the Illios print from 2024.

That went well and it was time to head into town to drop some art at Henry. I did pop into Mervyn Gers to see the new set up and prepare for next week.

It was good to see Henry and chat art and galleries. Then it was time to pick Joanne up and head home. Joanne made us all a Mac and Cheese as all the kids were home.

Hello Henry.

Mac n Cheese, Nandos style.

The flowers were out and about.

Wednesday I stayed home and got stuck into painting the Vespa. Prep work first to remove a few bits and pieces to avoid overspray. Frans got stuck into the stencils and I started to paint.

Pssssst.

I had to pop out at 11ish as I had a lunch with Bob and John at the Yacht club. Bob has a great idea he wanted to float past both of us. Not often a business idea is discussed with a Pilot, a CEO and an artist. It was fun.

Meet Bob and John.

Mast mayhem.

I then headed back with Bob as I Vespa-ed into his place. I headed home and did the final touch up’s and signing of the Vespa.

Done.

Thursday I was up early with Joanne, and we were off to town. I did a two hour admin (paying bills) stint and then got Joanne and I a take away coffee and headed to go see John at Hout Bay Gallery to do a catch up.

The man himself, John Hargitai showing me how to look after a pond.

The garden at Hout Bay Gallery is looking good.

Scott and Smit.

John messing about with a bee colony that settled into the tree in the courtyard.

After John I met up with Angelique at a restaurant of her choice for a farewell lunch. She chose Marble. The famous restaurant of my good friend David Higgs. David was not there but I caught up with his partner Gary and manager and the best wine sommelier in the world Wikus.

The famous Wikus from Marble.

Angelique and I reminisced over all the great times and deals and moment’s. She explained her new venture to me which sounded brilliant. May the road rise up to meet her.

Then it was time to pick Joanne up as we had a 3pm dress fitting with Jacques Le Grange. The world’s No.1 Couture designer.

The man himself Jacques Le Grange.

Jacques had a beautiful VOGUE dress for Joanne which was perfect for the Saturday Woolworths ball theme: Le Dolce Vita.

Then it was home via the mall as Joanne needed a bit of makeup. Joanne potted about while I got the fire going. We had another early night.

Joanne trying different types of makeup.

Me messing about while I wait.

Friday we both worked from home. Strangely enough we were both up and showered by 7am and sitting at the breakfast table working.

I had to pop out at 8am to drop the Mazda for a service with Faizel in Athlone. So here I am sitting in the back of an UBER on the way home typing to you.

Joanne has messaged ahead to say the Haddock is on the stove. NOMM NOMM. Today we gonna sit and go through the Somerset WhatsApp Auction catalogue.

Saturday we got up and headed to collect Joanne's dress from Jacques and headed to Franschoek.

We dropped off some art at the Woolworths event and then checked in to the AirBnB at Solms Delta wine farm around the corner.

Here are some pics of the rest of the day and evening.

Our View from Sarah's spot.

Sarah our host helped me do my bow tie as I did not know. It was very kind of here. What a beautiful home and what an interesting dog.

And were off.

Getting ready.

We bumped into Charl and his wife Marikie.

There she is on the stage.

Thank you for reading and viewing.
