I found this photo of Joanne on a Vespa in Johannesburg. I think it is owned by Brett Bailey.

My Beautiful wife and soulmate.

Monday I spent most of the morning perfecting the print out of Ignatius Marx elephant bull and 4 other works he is releasing as prints. I then printed out a series of the small Candy Girls for the gallery Soul of Africa in Munich. Richie popped in to drop a bag, and I made us some yummy pasta and tomato sauce. We ate on the deck and did some dad son catch up. Joanne came home and was on a mission to make some more green juice with all the stuff we harvested out the garden Sunday. Then it was an early night which was a terrible idea and neither of us got any good sleep.

Joanne also made some green juice.

Now available in print.
Joanne dropped me at Mervyn Gers Tuesday as I want to show Frans how to do the ceramic vases now that I have perfected the process and what I want.
Mervyn’s studio is looking good after the recent renovations.
Frans was in early and we set up the old table and Bedwyn brought down 1 1/2 clay slabs and we got cracking. By lunch time we had finished a vase. So, hold on tight.

Teaching Frans how to make the vases.

Pretty good for a first go.

Tile testing.

This one I did too deep. I chatted to Patric, and he said I need to first press all the girls in one slab and then cut them as the clay expands as I stamp them, which causes thinning on the sides and hairline cracks.
I had the home made lunch that Joanne packed me. Then I Ubered to Tamboers Winkel to catch up with Daniel at 2pm and discuss hanging his new Richard Scott acquisition.
Then it was home time. I got home in time to catch up with Hendrik as he was planting away in the vegetable garden.
Joanne and I had another early night after googled “ What to do in Milan”.

Richie sending me his daily photo of him flying around Cape Town.

Looks so peaceful.
Wednesday was day two of showing Frans the ropes at Mervyn. I decided to Vespa in as I needed a full day and Joanne was doing the visiting the kids round on Wednesday afternoon. I got in nice and early, 7.30. I actually left home 45 minutes after Joanne, and I got there the same time on my Vespa. Traffic Madness. None the less we cut and put together Vase no 2. Frans spend the first hour fettling the vase form Monday and I prepped the clay for Tuesday’s vase.
It went well. I was able to catch up on admin and email and clients while Frans did the various stages of vase construction. I managed to send Angelina some content for Instagram so she can earn her daily wage. She really is trying to get me Viral, bit I am not bothered. LOL.

More tile testing.
Once I was confident enough that Frans could finish, I popped out to go get some supplies at Shelflife (Gold Spray Paint) and Deckle Edge (Cellophane). Then It was time to do a last check in at Mervyn and wrap up the piece air tight.

I popped in to see my best friend Andre.

Andre showing me the bubbles in a new stout they just brewed.

The Greyton Artwalk in coming up on 28th November. Come support me at The Old Post House.
Thursday Ignatius popped din and signed all the prints we printed for him. We also cleaned up the 2 outdoor works going to Greyton for the Greyton Art Walk on the 28th to 30 November.

Friday was a great day. Joanne and I were both up super early at 5am and I saw Joanne off and sat on the deck in my shorts and at-shirt as it was already hot.
I ticked off all the banking boxes and all the other admin I didn’t finish in the manic week. Fran’s was in early as well and we cut, stamped, signed and packed the Ilios print series I did.
We also launched pre-bidding on the SHOMBIE WhatsApp charity catalogue for Friday night’s auction. The Germans were in it as they were coming in thick and fast.
As that was all happening, I got a call from a random +49 German mobile and I answered to a lady saying: “is that Richard Scott, we are standing at your front door”.
I have had that many times over the years.
I welcomed Nicole and Reinhard into my studio with an Angelina made espresso.
They spotted the Candy decanter at Bertus restaurant Spek and Bone and bought the 3rd last one.
That was really cool.
Then I had a quick catch up with Angelina before Ignatius picked me up as I committed to taking him up Wim at Black River Studios in montage gardens.
Ignatius wants to do a range of silkscreens in a new style he has.
That also went well. Now I’m in an uber on my way to meet Joanne at The Diamond Works, in Cape Town.
Friday afternoon we were invited by Daniel and Bianca to visit friends of theirs from Munich in Germany. They needed Joannes advice on property purchasing and the likes. It was great to meet them, and Joanne was on top form with all her legal and property knowledge.
We left nice and early as we had the Shombie Charity WhatsApp auction at 8.30 pm, or 7.30pm German time. That went well and we raised lots and lots of Euros for Shombie’s cause: Community Kids Pot.
Saturday was a scorcher of a day in Cape town with 38 degrees at home. Joanne and I had plans to go out for lunch, but we were both not feeling it, so we stayed home and enjoyed the weather and pool. It was my first time in the pool this season.

Me looking somewhat bewildered that I can actually, finally grow garlic.

Robin sent me a wallpaper design of my artwork in a bicycle shop in Canada of all places.

Sunset was so beautiful.
Sunday we invited a Daniel and the gang around for a Richard Scott cook up in the Braai Pit. I did a 1hr studio tour with six German’s, which went well and then I got stuck into cooking Richard Scott style in the Braai Pit.
It was a lot of fun. Everyone went home early, and we had an early night after and exhausting day. We did plan our April Dubai trip and then bed time.

Daniel and the gang.

Our beautiful pool.

Chef Richard.
Thank you for reading.
Until next week.
