Richard Scott Blog - 3rd August 2025

This is the first time there has been such a delay in the weekly blog. I am supposed to post on Sunday, and the record was Tuesday. So here goes last/last week’s blog.

The reason for the delay is 2 or 3 fold, mostly my commitment to The Church renovations and helping Hendrik help Danilo. And secondly work flow is chocca block. It’s that time of the year when you rethink and shift and adjust all the short medium and long term goals. So, my head is all over the place. If it wasn’t for my note book I would lost.

The week was kinda a blur and I usually look at my photos to recollect what I did in the week. Strangely I am not taking photos like I use to. I am trying to move away from social media and the likes. It is actually quite difficult. Even Angelina mentioned the lack of my presence on Instagram. So much so that she took my phone and logged herself in and decided to come up with a plan. Well, let’s see.

Tuesday was Church, Mervyn and home. Mervyn was just a quick pop in as they are moving everyone downstairs and I and just waiting for them to give me the go ahead.

Wednesday I was at The Church again after dropping Joanne off. We were working on the PRE-BIDS for that evening’s Sabrina Love Charity Auction. That all went well and we helped raise a substantial amount of money for the Foundation.

Thursday was a repeat of Tuesday.

Friday I was in studio finishing off a few prints that were on order. I also managed to sign off on the small Daisie prints I did last month.

Signing Prints.

Zoom Zoom.

Gold Leafing.

Very therapeutic.

Saturday was a nice early morning beach run. Angelina asked me to help her with her Suzuki Swift. When it rains, the rear wheel tire wells up with water and a lot of water for some reason. Do you think I could solve it and a super hero dad and a hose pipe. No, I could not, and this was even after Nizaam, my Spray Paint connection took a day to fix what he thought was wrong. So, Joanne stepped in and suggested to take it to the Suzuki dealer and see whet they suggest. For some reason, even Google AI didn’t come up with the solution.

DJ Print i did way back when. Found them in my print draw.

Saturday afternoon I made some Bertus Basson star anise infused cucumber pickles while Joanne potted around the house.

Nomm Nomm.

Getting ready.

I did do some painting in the studio on a few new Circular Splash works.

Beats a hair dryer.

Spot the Scott's.

Saturday evening Joanne made Nachos two ways. Beef and Bean. I got to make up the bean version with cheese and chips and Joanne the beef one. Then the kids were put under the test to see which was best. That didn’t go down well and two of us ate the beef and three of us ate the bean, so we had to go on looks. We couldn’t decide.

Whoaaaaa. Angelina opting for beans.

Nomm Nomm.

Sunday we all went to the Vegan Market in Tokai and enjoyed the delicious food while the girls thrifted.

You have to try these. Oh my word.

We came home with all sorts of delicious breads and olives and treats.

Thank you for reading.

Until next week.
