Right, Monday I decided to do a PRO-MO with the last 10 White Decanters I did. I offered a complimentary bottle of Gin and posted them online. There are still a few left. Here is the Link

It was also very cold and lots of rain. It was like I was back home in the UK. People find it strange that I like the grey days and rain.

Monday Evening.

Tuesday I did the next in the series of my Backgammon boards. I glued in the girls over the Candy Artwork and then applied the resin. I covered it with board so no dust flew in. The next morning, Wednesday I was excited to see the result. The resin set, but there was like a water lily effect. So, I googled it. I needed to sand it down slightly and apply another coat. I didn’t want to apply to much resin like I did in the last boards because it makes it too heavy and also you can’t close the box with the puck’s if the resin is too thick.

The next day (Wednesday)

I Googled, or GERIT, the manufacturer of the reason had a good video. The secret is to paint it on in layers with a brush once you have given it a light sand. The painting effect takes out the bubbles which I did not know. After the second coat, I had the most beautiful Backgammon board ever.

So that was most of Wednesday. Frans worked on a small commission and I did admin and banking for most of the day.

I did get Hendrik to strip and paint down the constriction pros I have. Ever since I built the house I have over 20 construction props. Not sure why I love them so much. In the middle of the night, I decided to do a cool sculpture with them. Watch this space. Its brilliant.

Serendipity. Was splashing some old canon ink cartridges onto reject print and look what I accidentally spotted while drying.

Thursday was Thursday. I didn’t go into town again this week. I should have. I was getting cabin fever.

I was looking to see if Angelina had a few skin colour Koki pens in her room and she didn’t. But I spotted  Rubic’s Cube on her book shelf.

Did you know, when I was 12, (1980) my dad came home from Japan I think with a Rubics Cube for me and a booklet on how to solve it. I know it was invented in 1974, but the global launch was only in 1980.

Well, it became very popular at school as I was the guy who could solve it.

I still brag and tell people that I could solve it.

Well today, I cannot anymore. So, what did I do for relaxation time on Thursday, yes, learn how to go it again. It will take me a while, but it’s a great life skill, I think.

Taschen books also got back to me on Thursday on helping me produce a annual book on my Daily Diary sketches. I thought of them as they do release erotic books, so it will fit nicely with my diary sketches as I use them to find new material.

Hendrik also went to go fetch the Richard Scott Lomond wine this week. He had to make two trips in the Caddy as there was 72 cases. I decided to do a deal with Geoff, the owner of Lomond wine farm whom I partnered with 10 years ago. Its offer the wine to my clients in studio.

Friday I got that groggy feeling again. I woke up, showered, and no better. I checked in with Frans and decided to lie in a little. Joanne was working up a storm from home, and she made me a yummy lunch to get me going.

I used the time to finish off the cycle jersey I decided to paint on. I got it in 2017 when I finished three ABSA Cape Epics. What was I thinking. One was only on the bucket list.

I am gonna try approach Assos or Cape Epic to see if we can partner and take this into production.

Joanne and I were both lazy on Saturday as Monday was a public holiday. We popped out the bank to pick up a card and then get Richie’s birthday present for Tuesday 11^th August. Turning 24 and about to fly to JHB to start his career as a Jet Pilot with Airlink.

We then got some odds and sods from Checkers and headed home for a lazy afternoon but the fire with Backgammon and Cards. Yes, once again Joanne beat me. I play Backgammon in a calculating way and she just plays and rolls the dice. She beat me 14/10. Blah.

Sunday we finally decide to take a walk on the beach after been a tad lazy all weekend. We did say Thursday that we wanted a lazy weekend. But we were feeling bad so a beach walk it was.

Bad idea as it was freezing and the wind was howling. We lasted 20 minutes and turned around.

We had a yummy breakfast and I got the fire going and Joanne made a delicious Black Bean stew with all sorts of goodies foraged from the garden (celery, garlic, carrots, kale, coriander, yes we grow our own coriander) for Angelina for lunch .

Joanne just popped out the shop to get a few bits and pieces for Richies 24^th Birthday dinner tomorrow night. I am sitting here typing to you and downloading all the photo from the week.

I still need to go downstairs and take some nice photos of the new Backgammon board and then I will post the blog.
