Richard Scott Weekly Blog - 16th August 2026

Monday was a public holiday, so it was nice to chill. Tuesday was Richie’s 24th Birthday, so we decided to celebrate Monday evening with the whole family as it was easier being a public holiday. Woman’s Day to be precise, as mentioned in last week’s blog.

Huffing and Puffing to blow out 24 Candles.

Toasted Cheese on the grill with real fire and colds.

Nomm Nomm Roasted Tomato Soup.

Best Orange Cake ever made by Angelina and Mila.

No left overs.

Tuesday, as mentioned, my son turned 24. Pretty cool.

Jean Hermans messaged me to say there was a lady from a Gallery in Singapore staying at their Hotel in the South of France. That was great news.

Good friends, Collectors of my art and business partners Jean and Karine.

Karine and Jean's beautiful Hotel in Le Paradou: JK MOULIN.

Wednesday I wanted to get the Muizenberg pieces up on the wall as I had a group of businessmen and woman coming for a studio tour Friday. Richard and the owners of the companies he is part of are The Excellence Group.

All the Muizenberg pieces up on the wall. Two are sold already.

Four new Gold works on paper. Uma and Mandy.

Louise and Tammy.

Mandy.

Ana. - which one do you want?

Thursday I got in the Caddy and headed out to Franschoek to go have a catch up with Paul at Colmant and drop off some gifts and pick up some Cape Classic for studio tours. Then into town to go drop off some art with Mahdis and then BOOM, some random guy didn’t see me in the car and turned into our lane and crashed into the Caddy. I literally just sold it to a guy and this happens. It ruined my day, but Joanne talked me thought it. Go to the Police station BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Friday was better as Richard came with his team. What was supposed to be a 1 hour Studio Tour ended up being just over 2 hours.

Team TEG from left to right: Jed from Yardcom, BO from TEG, Sonja from Eurocasa, Rich from TEG, Me, Yolanda from Poliform, Mathilda from Valcucine, Sherri from Aqua Atelier, Andrew from Infin8 Surfacing, Karen from Continua.

Team TEG Mosaic of Memories.

Then it was time to chill and come down from the day and the week.

Saturday we got up early and went to go see the open of Theo Paul Vorster’s Exhibition at RUST-EN-VREDE Art gallery in Durbanville. I have always loved and invested in his art.

Then we popped into the shops and came home.

An old school friend Trevor Dickey popped in for a visit. Joanne made us some pea soup and we reminisced about the days when we were 12 years old and the mischief we got up to. It was good to see Trevor and catch up.

Joanne, Trevor and me.

Then we chilled and watched a movie.

Sunday we ran on the road and then there was a mini Sunday lunch with Chad, Amy, Dean and Daniella. Richie was working and Angelina was dancing.

So here I am in front of the fire typing to you while Joanne challenged Dean to a game of Backgammon.

I'm gonna sign off and make us a Margherita and settle into our usual lazy Sunday afternoon. I do want to read a small book Joanne brought home called Tomato Soup And Sour Dough by Dr Andrea Phillips.

So, see you next week.

Thanks for reading and viewing.
