Monday, I finalized the Cape Diem lodge works and brochures as Daniel was back from travels and the season is about to start. The rest of Monday was Monday. Winter was having one more go at us and gave us a rainy cold start to the week.

We officially made Pomodori Semisecchi (Semi-dried Tomatoes).

Yes Yes Yes.

These are the ones we bought in San Pantaleo in Sardinia. They are so salty and delicious you only need one for an entire salad or bolognaise sauce, pasta dishes, you name it.

Step one, lots of salt and an Air Fryer at 60 degrees for 10 hours.

All packed and ready to eat. Not sure how long they will last.

Ben, my Cousin, was in town for a few days on business. He popped in Monday evening for a supper and a catch up. We also conceptualized the Richard Scott in Dubai project. The link is here if you want to see: www.richardscott.ae.

Tuesday, I popped into town with a long list of things to do. First stop was SHIFT Espresso for Coffee for Joanne and I. Then I drove out to see Henry in Lourensford and drop off a few pieces from my new series’. 

The Famous Henry from Art Curate. Henry has supported me since the beginning of my career.

Then I popped in to see Zolie at AMT resins to chat about an alternative epoxy solution for the Muizenberg Beach hut worm farm project I was personally working on. Were gonna use a more affordable resin called AMPRO 115 that allows me to cast up to 2cm deep.

You mix the two together, wait a 24 hours and BINGO.

Then I ran around town and picked up odds and sods for the studio. I did pop into to see Eugene at The Bronze age and he was very positive about being able to cast the new large bronzes. That was the highlight of my year so far. Yeah.

Finally found a foundry that is like me and does not understand the word "CAN'T"

I treated Ben and Mark to a Zuney Burger and a beer. Mark lived and worked in Dubai for a year and built up a big network in the Banking space.

Then I fetched Joanne and we were off home. 

Wednesday the selling season had started as I sold a large piece to a client and so did John at Hout Bay Gallery. Now all we need is the sun to come out and join us in celebrating.

Sold, going to a good home. 

I took some time to cast the resin in the worm farm base. As mentioned I am casting it at an angle so the liquid falls to one side and then I can tap it out and use as fertilizer. I send you some pics next week.

We woke up Thursday morning to it raining all night long. And I mean the whole night. It was awesome.

Joanne and I packed a bag as we were staying over at the lodge Thursday night. I then dropped her off at work and headed out to Colmant to see Paul about a dog. He has agreed to be on board with supplying Colmant bubbles to me for my studio tours and the lunches and suppers I hold over the season.

France, from Woodstock Brewery sent me a photo of his home in the Eastern Cape. I sponsored him the roofing as Geoff McIver of Youngman roofing, is a good friend of mine.

After Paul, I dropped off some framing for Richie at Sean. Then I popped in to see Eugene at The Bronze Age to drop off Ana and pick up Mandy that I dropped Tuesday. Ana was readier and smoother with coats of primer and paint on.

Richie asked me to frame his map he used over the last 7 years to get to his CPL. Commercial Pilots License.

Then I popped in to Sea Point to see Henry and drop off two BREAK GLASS BOXES with him.

Spotted this in Henry's Gallery. So cool to see them framed. Who would of thought. Genius.

And this piece as well. A spent studio stencil.

Then fetched Joanne and headed to the lodge.

Me and my beautiful wife spending quality time together. Oh, I also went for a haircut Friday.

Friday we got up an hour after we usually do as we stayed over at the lodge in Green Point. We had a nice breakfast and then I dropped Joanne off at the office. 10 minute drive compared to 70minutes. I headed back to the lodge to catch up on some admin. 

Do you know where I can get one of these doors at the back of the SAPS vans? I want to use it as a canvas.

Vespa in Johannesburg contacted me as they need to restore an original Richard Scott artwork. LOL.

Joanne invited all the kids for Friday supper. We decided on chicken wings and ribs with homemade crinkle cut chips. I pan fried the chicken wings on the coals and braaied the ribs over the raw coals where you constantly based the ribs with the delicious sticky sauce. It took me a whole day Saturday to soak the grid and get the sauce off.

Best chips ever. Dad used to make them when we were kids. My Aunty Jane and Uncle Stuart bought me this slicer.

Saturday we worked in the garden and replanted over 1000 baby carrots so they can grow nice and big. I am getting itchy and want to start a nursery. Maybe even just grow plants and sell them to nursery’s. I have always wanted to do that. It's kinda free as you just regrow after seeding etc. 

This year we have planted 10 times what we normally do. So, let’s see.

Maybe with all this AI news about human extinction withing 10 years it’s a good idea.

Saturday afternoon we soaked up the sun on the deck and played cards and backgammon.

Yes we finally have Water Berry trees growing in the garden. So cool. There's over 100 of them growing from seeds from a tree already in the garden.

Sunday was a repeat of Saturday. Well so far anyway. We spent time weeding the veggie garden and adding fertilizer to the grass. Joanne is experimenting with chips and onion rings in the air fryer while I type to you.

Joanne is investigating why I keep seeing the number 333 and 555 for the last 2 days.
