Monday and Tuesday were rainy catch up with admin days. The fire was going and it was nice and cozy. I did manage to document the Cape Diem works. There are 12 so far. I will show them to you once I have presented them to Daniel, week after net.

Sending Angelina my morning photo.

I did manage to find the time for a slow cooked lamb shank for supper.
Wednesday was town day. I dropped Joanne and headed off to run some errands after SHIFT coffee stop.
First was a haircut, then I dropped off some recycled boxes at Wood Stock brewery.

After my haircut I bumped into the famous Harold Hopkin. Harold is a good friend and an early collector of my work. We had a quick catch up and off again.

While dropping off the boxes, I spotted the Vin de Constance wine barrels that Andre brews his Belgian style "Sweet Mary Jane" beer in.
Soon enough it was time to pick Joanne up and head home to pack for our trip.
We decided to leave early and spend some time in the lounge.

And we are off. Traveling light this time.

Lounge life.

Spotted this amazing artwork by Anton Smit in the lounge. Very cool.

Someone tipped the barman a $5 bill. I offered him R100 and he jumped at it.

Bumped into Konstantin on his way to London. I met him when Mmusi Maimane launched his BOSA party and we helped raise funds.

A few photos to inspire Richie as the aircraft, the Boeing 777, is his dream to fly one day.
The flight to Dubai was pretty normal, but to see the airport so empty was eerie. We booked into another lounge and got some rest and food.
And we were off again on our way to Milan. It was obviously Thursday now.

Travel buddies.
I watched a documentary about an artist Thomas Kinkane. Wow, it humbled me so much. Take the time and watch it.
We landed in Milan, took the time to have a refreshment and then on the train to Lugano.

Train time.
We bought a nice Panettone at the deli where we stopped at for 10 minutes. The train to Lugano was good. Nice to see Italy and Switzerland from a train window. We did play cards as it’s a 90 minute train ride.

Never seen an orange flavoured Panettone before.
Sami picked us up at the train station and we were off to a welcoming supper from Dani’s Kitchen.
Nice early night to catch up on sleep.

Our home in Lugano for five days.

The church bells ring on the hour and half hour.
On Friday we woke up and had a good sleep in to catch up on the time lost in economy, as you know. We caught up on washing and the usual travel bits and pieces. I made us some sliced Pecorino and some Copa Stagionata from Monte Penice for breakfast and then we caught up with email and admin. It was nice to see Joanne traveling and working on her laptop.
Danilo picked us up at 12 and we went for lunch with Giovani. You remember Giovani from a few months back. He asked me for some t-shirts, and I gave him some in exchange for a lunch in Lugano.

The famous Giovanni.
We ate at Suko, a simple Asian infused eatery around the corner.
After lunch we walked to Cairo Gallery to meet up with owner Elenora and hung out with her for an hour or so.

Window shopping.

Three windows of Richard Scott.

Beautifully framed Graffiti Ana. SOLD.

Loving the red Perspex frame Eleanora used to frame My Red Ana.

This one as well.

Even more.
Joanne and I popped out to do some shopping. Joanne found a small boutique. This lady goes to Milan every Monday and buys clothes from certain suppliers and brings them back to Lugano and sells them. For R2000 Joanne got clothes worth much more and clothes that she will not get in South Africa.
We walked around town and the Piazza a little and headed back to the gallery as most people were there from 5pm.

Had to take the photo. Joanne, my wife and love of my life. Now we get to see the world together.

Getting Joanne some Nespresso pods to use in Danilo's machine.

Time for a quick Margarita in the square.
It was nice to meet all the new clients and spend time with them.

Meeting new people with Danilo and Sami.

Supper time. My Negroni buddy.

Pizza No.1 Roman Pizza.

Hanging out with all the Lugano people.
Saturday was sleep Lugano style and then we headed into town to support Sami as she was running a fashion show in the Plaza. First we took a coffee as the Swiss Italians do.

There was a small market in the square on Saturday morning. And low and behold I spotted two number plates from the Lugano Canton. I have been bugging Danilo if I can have his one and he said no. He and I will go to jail; they are so protective of things like this in Switzerland. So, I was super chuffed to get hold of two for the "I LOVE LUGANO" artwork back in the studio.
After the show we went for lunch with Luca and Nicola as they came in specifically from Milan to lunch with us. Danilo took us to Il Fermento on the main road opposite the lake. for a traditional thin Swiss Pizza. As always Danilo ordered like we like it: order for the table and we share. It was super cool to catch up with Luca and Nicola.

Meet Enrico.

Pizza No.2 The Swiss Style Pizza for lunch. It went down so quickly Joanne only got this photo.

Enrico, Joanne, Luca's sister and Luca, Niccolo and Danilo. Always get the pic.
Enrico Joined us for lunch with his son. Enrico is my biggest collector in Lugano.
After lunch we headed home for a siesta. Well Danilo, Luca and Joanne had a siesta. I am sitting here typing to you.

Siesta, what siesta?
We were off again at 7pm for a supper at Autentiko Punzo with Nina and her family. This time it was Neapolitan style pizza and limoncello spritz.

Pizza No.3 Neapolitan style. They are all good in their own way.

Desert.

Myself, Joanne, Maximillian, Nina, Sami and Danilo.
Sunday is chill morning and then we are off to little Italy on the other side of lake Lugano to lunch with Sami, and Lake Como for late afternoon, early evening today.
Thank you for viewing the blog.
Until next week.
