Richard Scott Blog - 23rd November 2025

On Monday, Hendrik and I decided to take down the front door and varnish it. You probably know the back of the front door has a huge powder-blue Tammy on it. So, it is quite a delicate operation as the front door itself is worth a lot of money.

Front door removed and been sanded.

Spot the Powder-Blue Tammy.

I made a nice long list of stuff to do and slowly over the day ticked off all the boxes.

Richie asked me for the photos of when he got his PPL (Private Pilot's License) back in 2018, so that led me to trawl Instagram and boy did I find some old gems.

Here is the Instagram post I did of the photo Richie was looking for.

Back in the day when Richie and I owned an aeroplane.

An even cooler photo two years earlier when Richie flew SOLO at 16 years old. Proud dad.

Here is a few old photo of me driving Mark Gillman around in my Lamborghini in England.

Mark looking shaken after doing 200mph.

Here is the essay Mark wrote in 2005 for my book.

Here is an old one of Dorian and Janaki when they lived in London.

Here is one of the first photos of David Higgs and I back in 2014.

Here is one of Vincent and I in Hollywood doing business back in 2010.

Here is a great one of Brett Bailey me and Andy. Great memories of our dear late friend.

Here is a great one of me and New York art dealer Jeff Jaffe in the back of Vincent van Zon's SAAB in Rotterdam.

And another of me catching up with Graham Norton.

Leonard sent me a video of the kids eating there yummy meals. As you know we use my art to help raise funds to feed hungry kids. Such an amazing feeling for us to be able to do that.

Tuesday was a great day. I did so much admin that Joanne even commented on how busy I was. Angelina and her friend came back from camping in the Cederberg. So, you know how that goes, dirty washing etc.

Morning vibes.

Hello and Bye Bye Angelina and Anna.

Acrylic on paper.

Different angle.

Wednesday I got stuck into the Sabrina Love WhatsApp auction as it was held Thursday night. Chad came over and helped with the catalogue.

Ilios Travel commissioned me to do a piece for their website. Soon you will be able to book a Richard Scott Studio tour with them.

Thursday was another home day. A Dubai collector, Sean, popped in to pick up a piece and chat about the Dubai show in April 2026.

Meet Sean. A happy Collector from Dubai.

Then Henry popped in from Sea Point. He was like a kid in a candy store.

Henry selecting some Richard Scott cans.

Thursday afternoon a whole team of videographers, Diamond Works and Cobra were here filming for the new Diamond Works/Cobra/Richard Scott Experience. You know the guys who rent out the Cobra Cars. Aimee from Diamond Works organized a full blown shoot. The idea is that Diamond Works and Cobra Works will add a “Studio Tour” to their experience itinerary, whereby you rent a car and drive it out to me, and I give you a famous Studio Tour. Some photos to follow next week.

Meet the team from Diamond Works and Cobra.

Rossouw Modern requested a Green No Entry Sign piece.

Thursday night we hosted the Sabrina Love WhatsApp auction which went well.

Friday I realised that I did not go into town at all this week. Frans was sick Monday and Tuesday, so we did not do Mervyn this week. It gave me the opportunity to get some Construction works to Marika at Hout Bay Gallery and also recycle a few old paintings.

Ultramarine Blue Tree. 40 x 40cm

If the canvas is white on the back then it is a recycled work. E.G: this piece was one of the Cameramen series from 2007.

Saturday was too windy to go for a run, so we did some admin, finished the Melkbos Care Centre Charity auction catalogue and then watched a movie.

Ignatius Marx Clouds.

Sunset Studio Vibes.

Sunday was the same, but we braved a long walk on the beach and then a yummy breakfast on the deck.

Our Beach.

Joanne and I are both planning our trip and gonna get out the backgammon board and play a little.

Thank you for reading.

Until next week.
