The wind was still blowing Monday which made it rather difficult outside while the guys were bubble wrapping the large construction and wine barrel works that were going off to Greyton for this weekend’s annual Greyton art walk. 

I did a deal with Frik, the owner of Greyton Antiques, formally known as the Greyton Trading Post to use his beautiful space for the event.

Hendrik took control and decided to pack the works inside the studio. albeit the work is very heavy.

On Tuesday I drove into town with Joanne, then first stop was Mervyn to start the next vase. Frans was already in and fettling last week’s vase.

I then popped out to go see David and Chantel at The Cobra/Diamond Works Experience. Like I mentioned last we discussing adding a Richard Scott Tour to their itinerary. So far so good. I had to come back to Mervyn to do the balance of my admin as it was pay-day.

Got the photo. Gosh it was boiling hot. The car said 40 Degrees.

Wednesday I Vespa-ed into Mervyn where Frans was waiting for me. Bedwyn and Melvin were unable to make me two slabs the day before, so we took the time to clean out Tuesdays piece nicely.

The slabs of clay finally arrived at 9. They were a little wet, so we have to wait a while till after lunch or tomorrow morning. I used the opportunity to pop out and have a coffee with Jacques and discuss a potential Dubai co-lab in April 2026. It was great to see him. I then headed back home to catch up in studio.

Thursday I worked on the presentation for the studio tour. I decided to use the old favourite PowerPoint. That all done I made Joanne and I some yummy supper and were in bed early.

Friday was head off to Greyton for this weekend's Greyton Art Walk. Joanne had some work to do, and I used the opportunity to pop into Mervyn and make a plan with Wednesdays vase as I didn’t quite think it through. We cannot get our hand inside to treat the one panel. So, I am trying something.

Ok, it looks a bit messy, and it shouldn't. I cannot get inside to push this panel out. So, I glued some pieces to the wall and hopefully it set enough so I can pull it out like all those Panel beating hacks you see online.

My Friday. Blah. I am also gonna try repair this, although the pros will say you cannot. Let's see.

After all this I picked Joanne up and we were off to Greyton.

Saturday was up early and off to the The Greyton Trading post to be present for the Greyton Art Walk. It was very busy and nice to engage with collectors. Alister and Tabitha invited us over for a drink and then we went back to our spot and built a nice bonfire and chilled into the night.

Delivering an Ignatius Marx Elephant Print to Alister as he helped us take the photo on one of his trips to Philipstown, where Ignatius lives and has his studio. Alister goes there as he is involved in the famous Philipstown Wire Cart Grand Prix.

Always great to spend time with Alister and Tabatha.

Sunday was lazy up and catch up with Paul and Candice. We packed up and headed off to day 2 of Art Walk. It went well. We stayed till 1pm and headed home.
