Richard Scott Blog - 13th April 2025

I went to bed Sunday night with what looked like bit of a market  crash on Crypto. I wanted to get in but managed to switch off my Crypto brain. Only to wake up with a further fall in the market. It was tempting, but for some reason I could not buy. I wondered if it was like a market block on purchasing while the market falls or is volatile.

Monday was good for a Monday. I said goodbye to Joanne at 6.30 am and headed to the coffee machine. I made myself a good stiff double espresso and proceeded to do some banking. The day went on as a Monday does, up and until 8am when the staff all got off the train at 5 Die Bad Road Train Station. I printed out some life sized Mandy’s on normal 80 gram bond to use as a stencil in Hermanus.

Angelique picked me up and we were off. We had the Joyride construction piece in tow and the stencils and a few cans of spray-paint. A quick stop at Peregrine for a coffee and a box of apples and then Hermanus.

Apple juice for breakfast from Apple Country.

Prepping a spray piece for an outside shower.

Almost there.

Tadaaaaaaa!

Beautiful home with beautiful art.

Done. Joyride construction piece.

The heavens opened up on the way home. Hence taking 2 ½ hours to get home vs. the usual 90 minutes.

Loving the rain.

Tuesday was Joanne's Birthday. She took the day off work other than popping into town to arrange her Visa for Europe. We also ordered take away from the Curry Club for Joanne's Birthday supper.

Wednesday I popped into Mervyn again. I have been spending so much time there that even Joanne said my blog is full of clay 😊

The ceramicist has landed. Vespa ride to Mervyn Gers.

My office for the day.

Got a mention on POP New York Gallery Instagram feed.

Thursday, Mervyn again, this time for a full day as Joanne dropped me off early and I finished one piece and started two others.

Not bad.

Sending Angelina the daily morning pic.

Almost dry and ready for the fettering and the first firing in the kiln.

Two new pieces in the making and drying on the window sill.

Another pic, this time for my wife.

Take two. Here we go.

Keeping everything nice and clean is important.

Making notes for Frans for the new graffiti gold pieces.

James sent me a sneak peak of his new gallery opening soon in England.

Friday morning, we did a road run and got stuck into work. I did studio and Joanne did her work.  It was go go go to finish off the week.

Saturday we did the following, in order: Beach Run, breakfast on the deck, plan for UK and Germany, I got stuck into making a bean stew, while Joanne did a Vegetable Chicken stew for the kids. The rain and cold weather were welcoming and made me light a fire.

Fisherman catching fish on our beach.

Run done.

Sunday was a repeat of Saturday other than chatting to Andreas Bill about our Munich and Berlin trip.

Joanne then got stuck into making an Aubergine lasagna while I did the blog.

That is all for this week.

Thanks for reading and watching.

Until next week.
