Richard Scott Blog: 2 July 2023

This was an exciting week. We just came back form Montagu and were now planning for a long weekend in Johannesburg to visit friends and do some business. As I start to type this on Wednesday afternoon, I picked up my phone to see what I did Monday and Tuesday and there were no photos. 2 big admin days and now Wednesday even more admin.

I remember Tuesday Joanne and I went to see out relationship therapist to check in. We then popped into Checkers to get a few supplies. We kind of live day by day now that the kids are mostly out the house. Its how my uncle Stuart and Jane live in the UK. He taught me well. Its nice to go out on the spur of the moment and buy a nice piece of fish or beef and cook on the night. Thanks Uncle Stuart. So, we bought chicken and added it to the left over Butter Chicken sauce I made on the weekend. I noticed that there was a special on Kleine Zalze Cap Classique NV Brut for R134 so I bought a bottle and Joanne and I enjoyed it with supper.

Wednesday I got stuck into finishing off 5 large Graffiti paper works and also sorting out the Google Doc print logs as they were in a bit of a mess.

A metal stencil that's been put to good use.

Richie popped in on Wednesday to catch up and talk 3D prints and Motorbikes and dad son stuff. We shared the left-over butter chicken for lunch. Richie had it in a wrap, and I had it with rice. I had mine with some ginger beer I bought in Roberson at a PADSTAL. It took 30 minutes to open the almost explosive bottle. Homemade ginger beer is like that. It was delicious. After Richie left, I checked our flight status and also started to get in touch with all the peeps in Johannesburg.

I also checked in with Angelina as she is taking driving lessons. These days you cannot teach your kids all the new K53 rules. I remember my dad buying me a book and taking me every day to practice.

So it's Wednesday afternoon and all my admin is done and the sun is shining on my table as I look out to the ocean. It's bitter cold here in Cape Town at the moment, but I'm loving it. Joanne is on her way home, via BMW, after a service and then we gonna pack and get ready for tomorrow.

Thursday morning all went to plan. I dropped Joanne off at work and then went to the Gallery in Woodstock. I had a few meetings and a haircut with Liezl my next door neighbor. After that Angelique and I had a meeting with Andrew at FIT1000. We want to do a collaboration together and were planning it slowly.

The famous Andrew Rothchild

Meet Mathew. He happened to be at Andrews Gym and Is a collector of my art from Dallas Texas.

I picked Joanne up and we were on the way to Johannesburg. We are staying at Andy.

And were off.

Andy can never resist a back gammon game

We only got to Andy at 8pm and he immediately whisked us off to Sale Pepe for a yummy supper. We scoffed it and headed home. Early night as tomorrow was a busy day. We got up and headed out to do some business.

We popped in to see Russel and Alex of Russel Kaplan Auctioneers.
Nice to see Andy has stocked up with Vespa's

Andy dragged us back to Sale Pepe for lunch with Robbie a friend of his. We left early as we had a supper and sleep over at a friend of mine Wayne and Nina. It was great to catch up with them. Then back to Andy for a rest day.

Simple easy Italian food

Andy invited some friends over and we had a great time. Early to bed as Andy and I watched the first day of The Tour De France and I fell asleep on the couch. Now it's Sunday and I'm sitting at the airport finishing this blog.

Our new Jo-burg friends. The Jo-burgers definitely life a hard fast life. We couldn't keep up.

Until next Sunday.
