Richard Scott Blog - 20 July 2025

This week’s blog is gonna be sweet and short.

Adding Red Nail Polish to a bronze for a bit of experimental fun.

The whole week was focused on maintenance at The Church.

It’s starting to look awesome.

Therapeutic.

Bit messy, but getting there.

Tuesday, Angelina and Richie arrived back came back safely from the trip to the UK.

It was nice to see them and pick them up from the airport.

Wednesday evening, we held a successful WhatsApp auction for SONGO where we helped raise R60 000.

It’s a great feeling to be able to give back through my art.

The week was a bit of a blur.

Saturday, Joanne and went for a 4 hr hike up table mountain as it was a beautiful day.

My wife and I walking.

Joanne spotted some mushrooms. None edible.

Our beautiful mountain

Never done this part of Table Mountain before.

And never seen this waterfall either.

For some strange reason there was a lot of vegetable and fruit cutting for the worms this week. I did do a lot of cooking at The Church as did Joanne at home which produces lots of yummy food for the worms.

Hendrik and I have 10 active worm stations on the go in the vegetable garden.

Sunday was chill and prep for Monday as I need to start preparing for the South African summer and plan gallery trips and the likes as we slowly start to come out of winter. I also need to make an effort and check in on them ceramics at Mervyn.

Thanks for reading.

Until next week.

    Richard Scott Blog - 30th November 2025

The wind was still blowing Monday which made it rather difficult outside while the guys were bubble wrapping the large construction and wine barrel works that were going off to Greyton for this weekend’s annual Greyton art walk.  I did...

    Richard Scott Blog - 23rd November 2025

On Monday, Hendrik and I decided to take down the front door and varnish it. You probably know the back of the front door has a huge powder-blue Tammy on it. So, it is quite a delicate operation as the...
