It is Monday and finally the ROCKET coffee machine is performing after I picked it up on Friday. I took it in for a service and now it’s like a new car. Expensive stuff need servicing I keep telling myself.

Yeah, real coffee again. Candy Uma cup from Mervyn Gers.
I made a fire, did some banking and it was still dark. I watched the Monaco Grand Prix highlights and worked on a new Candy Girls print.

Candy Party Girls all lined up.

Candy Party print. Available in 4 sizes:
- 220 cm x 110cm
- 122cm x 61cm
- 46cm x 24cm
- 21cm x 14cm

The new stickers arrived.

Monday Diary doodles.
Tuesday was a town run and then off to Somerset West to see Ruan at The Lost Wax foundry. I showed him the example of what I wanted and he was impressed. It meant a lot as Bronze is high business. So, it went very well. He was not sure whether to do it using the lost wax process or sand casting. I left the maquette with Ruan as he wanted to do research. Then it was off to run around getting odds and sods before I picked Joanne up and headed home.

Getting ready for the Lugano Studio piece. These works above were all done on stuff I collected there in 2025 and now in 2026.

Lunch with my good friend Marc Copeland. Yes, I introduced Marc to Zuney Burgers.
Wednesday was a productive day in the studio. I started the I ❤️ LUGANO piece which I am extremely excited about. Not much else happened in the studio.

Prepping.

Off we go. I decided to use up the Bishops Cerise paint I created a while back for the Arch Bishop Tutu works.

Remember this piece for 2012. Arch Bishop Tutu and The Dali Lama.

Lugano here we go.

Surprise visit from Angelina. We had a lunch and good catch up. She is finished with University term.
My main mission on Thursday was to get Marika and John's opinion on the life size bronzes.
Marika and John own Hout Bay Gallery. It’s where I started my career and sold my first of 10,000 artworks over 25 years.
I always remember running any new idea past Marika. She was and is still bluntly honest.
I was in luck, Marika and John both loved the bronzes concept.
It was a go.

My Bronze Cat from 2005. 21 years ago.
I remember driving to my next appointment, which was with Ian to discuss the mini bronzes, and wondering why I didn’t do them years ago.
Then I remember I did. In 2005 I did the cat bronzes but I was ahead of my time in my career and also the market was not interested in bronze art. They weren’t even interested in my prints until 2011, 10 years into my career. Now I sell 2 prints a day on average.
As mentioned my next appointment was with Ian in Woodstock to discuss the manufacturing of the mini bronzes. Ian is on schedule to finish the first batch end of June.

Measuring the mini bronzes. These are 3D printed maquettes.

16mm thick.

I was fascinated at them mirrors in lifts as a kid. Haven't seen one of these for years.
Friday I did a lot of work on the I ❤️ LUGANO piece again. It was fun. Joanne worked from home, so that was nice.

Red, white and green. Go Italy.

I need these 3D prints in a Tiffany Blue colour and they don't make the filament for the 3D printer in this colour.
Saturday was a beautiful sunny day. I took advantage of the sun and worked a little more on the I ❤️ LUGANO piece again.
I love working on these studio pieces.
I’m looking forward to the finished product on this one.
I still got the fire going and Joanne made some lasagna for the kids for Lunch.

I had to take a photo my lunch was so colourful. lasagne, cabbage, cauliflower, tomato and chili.
I dismantled the two bicycles I have as I want to swap the components around to their original places.
Joanne entertained the kids and I potted around the studio with diary sketches and some circular works.

Planning a road trip.
Sunday was lazy Sunday, house cleaning, prepping for the week.
Thank you for reading and viewing.
