Last week Sunday, Joanne got us some tickets to the annual Jive Comedy Fun Festival at the Baxter Theatre. The comedians were very funny, but the Host Alan Committie was the funniest. Then we went for some late night Sushi and went back to the Lodge.

Me and my wife about to put our hands up to get hackled.

Late nigh Sushi. 6/10

Walking the Sushi off, Pangbourne style.
We were able to get up late Monday morning and evaluate the theory to see if it was worth staying in town and not having to travel 90 minutes in the traffic each morning. We were off to a good start. Up at 7am and Joanne at work at 7.30am.
I did the usual and got stuck into Monday Admin and the daily 1/1000 Instagram “Circular Series”.

I got a few pics this week from peeps tagging me.

Ha!
I was then off to see John at Hout Bay Gallery to catch up and then all the other weekly chores I usually get up to. I fetched Joanne and off to the Lodge to get ready for a nice Supper with Joanne’s friend and work colleague Louise and her husband Eva at Nobu at the One and Only.

Circular Doodles.
It was great to see them and catch up and eat amazing food.

Myself, Eva, Louise and Joanne ready to NOBU.

Tuesday was a public holiday so we slept in late. It was nice. We had a Cape Diem Lodge breakfast and then we went for a 4 hour walk to the end of Sea Point and back through Greenpoint Park. We were both a little tired when we got back. We did pop into Mano’s for a catch up and a quick lunch. We opted for his famous Greek Salad and calamari on the side. We did some business with Mano with my art. It’s a great honour to have my art in his establishment. Watch out for something new soon.

Our Beautiful Cape Town parks.
Then we were off to watch Angelina dance at the Artscape. Quite an honour to watch your daughter dance at such a prestigious theatre house.

Artscape. I once hung my TUTU art series on those walls for over a year.

After dance photo. Angelina, Joanne, me, Daniella and Dean.
Wednesday I dropped Joanne off at work and popped in to see Mervyn Gers himself to discuss colour for the vases. He is a wealth of knowledge. Looks like he has found a solution to the colour crisis I have. The rest of the day was a repeat of Monday and Tuesday. Lodge, sushi and early to bed after lots of cards and backgammon.

Spotted this beauty for resale in Sea Point. Whoaaaaa.
1.5m x 1.5m Jacaranda tree from early 2000.
Thursday was my 3rd day at the Lodge doing business. I set up shop in the lounge and got going with updating my online brochures. I have a PDF link with all the catalogues and exhibitions and videos over the years. It does get out of date quite quickly.

My new office. Cape Diem Lodge.
At 12 it was time to check out of the Lodge and head off. I did manage to catch Daniel and discuss the art in the lodge. He and Bianca are planning their wedding and now was not the time to talk art 😊
I popped out to run some errands and get some stationery and nuts and bolts and then headed off to see Andre for a quick burger chat. Andre has updated his burger and needed my advice.
Then it was home time and chill at home. Nothing like home.
Friday I did the 3rd phase of the I LOVE Lugano piece. I am really loving it. Can’t wait. Chef Joanne did her 2nd cooking class. Today's recipe is her and my mother’s Bolognaise sauce. The students were Chad, Dean and Daniella. I got a fire going early morning, but by 1pm it was warmer outside than inside, so I opened up the doors to let the warm air in.

Lucky Mandy is the girl I chose on this piece.

Glue or paint?

Applying the first of two Lugano number plates. Yes, obtained legally.

The second. This is the first "STUDIO CITY SERIES" piece with two number plates on.
Work done, staff on the way home, we enjoyed the sun and the deck. I even took off my t-shirt to catch some vitamin D it was so warm.
We watched a few Clarkson’s new series and had a early night as Saturday was gonna be a long day.
As mentioned, Saturday we were off to Hermanus for the “Clash of The Chefs” charity event. Each year I donate art to help their cause.
It was great to meet new people, eat lots of good food and donate art. Most importantly spend time with my beautiful wife Joanne.

The day dragged on, as they do and were accustomed to. But still it was good. We left around 5pm and checked into our hotel in Hermanus and headed off to see the whales and find the best Margarita's in Hermanus.

The whales performed well as they breached out of the water. The Margarita did not perform so well.
We did manage to get one establishment to use real lime juice, but like Joanne says, we’re snobs. Might get into trouble for that one.
We decided to supper at Theo’s Greek tavern, as we spent the afternoon with his wife, Claudelle sitting next to us at “Clash of the Chefs” at Benguela Cove.

NOMM NOMM Enjoying a Yirro and chips. Simple Lamb wrap and humus.
After that it, we walked back home to the hotel and bumped into Rod and Adell staying at the same hotel. Rod had bought the four Richard Scott Gin Bottles at the event. We hit it off and chatted at the fire for a few hours until bed time.
Sunday morning was up late. Walk along the beach Cliff path in Hermanus and then off to see the galleries to catch up. Rossouw Modern and Walker Bay art.

Our little spot in Hermanus. Nice and affordable and good food and service.

Cool Mural of The King.
Then home via Peregrine to get some NOMM NOMM pies and here I am typing to you in my favourite place. Home.
Thank you for reading and watching on this sunny Father’s Day.
