Not much happened Monday and Tuesday this week, bar some admin and the actual start of 2026 in the studio.
Frans and Hendrik came back to work. I wanted to do a studio spring clean, but it did not happen as the floor paint I ordered was not ready yet from the supplier.
So, we got stuck into a light clean up. Hendrik managed to put all the large paintings in the corner of the studio into the wine cellar.
That freed up a lot of space as I want to create a permanent space for me to do the studio tours in 2026. I am on a big drive with various tour avenues in 2026.

Monday I did manage to make the 2026 r i c h a r d Stamp. For the past four years Richie 3D printed them for me. If you remember the week before last I found some drift wood on Melkbos beach the exact same size as my old wooden stamps, so I decided to do the 2026 stamp in wood.

So, this year I decided to do the "scott" as well. It will be the first year ever to use the word scott. So, if you see a painting in the future with "richard scott" stamped in then you will know it is from 2026.

Tada.......

Orgasmic Tammy. 50 x 50cm. This piece was once a Gold Tulip.

Got the photo to show the size of the painting. In the background, on the left, is a Bougainvillea carved into cement and on the right is the old wooden piece when I demolished the house. It is the old deck. It is about 15 years old now.

Saw this from a collector. Always so great to see secondary sales. It's the most important thing for an artist now and in the future. I have come across so many artists that are not interested in the secondary market.

Monday night beach walk. Table Mountain is in there somewhere.

Got the pic. Table Mountain not visible in the rain clouds.

The sun popping out to shine on our backs.
Wednesday I drove into town in the Caddy with Joanne. I dropped her at her office and then popped into SHIFT Coffee, Greenpoint to meet up with Pete, Robin and Frankie. I have not seen them since they were at Shombies in Climbach, Germany in June last year.
We caught up and talked a lot of Germany and German politics as Robin is now in Parliament.
Then I drove around and did errands till it was 1pm when I picked Joanne up.

My Red Tree. 200 x 200cm (2m x 2m).
Pete sent me these images of works available in his Gallery in Butzbach Frankfurt. I had to post them as there so beautiful and bring back such great memories of all the exhibitions we had over the years.

I so love this piece, Hypnotic Ana, 75 x 75cm.

I did some circular marks in the impasto using a comb.

Pink Mandy, 75 x 75cm.

Mille, 100 x 200cm.

Candy Girls, 300 x 150cm.
Thursday morning, I dropped Joanne off at her office and headed out to Franschoek to meet up with Joan from Southern Stroll Marketing. Joan arranges numerous Charitable Fund raisers throughout the year. It was great to catch up with her and strategies with her for 2026. We had a coffee at Trebedore, a trendy and busy coffee shop in the main road of Franschoek.
After Joan, Carl Smyth popped in for a catch up as he recently moved to Franschoek. It was great to see Carl and also share our news. We last saw each other three or four month ago.

The famous Carl Smyth.
Then I got a message from Jay, the Gallery owner from Munich. He is in Cape Town for a week enjoying our summer sun. I agreed to meet him at Jason's Bakery at 12, so I raced through in the Caddy and made it in time.
I wished Jason and then sat with Jay and also caught up on 2025 and did some planning for 2026

Chilling with Jay at Jason's Bakery.
Then it was off to pick Joanne up as we booked a lunch with Danilo at The Church. We had a delicious lunch and caught up with Danilo. It is always great to see him and spend time with him.

Hello. Danilo super-duper happy with the Church renovations Hendrik and I did in September/October last year.

Chef Danilo sharing his secret Italian recipes with us.

Best pasta ever.
Then we popped into the Western Cape Blood Bank in Long Street to donate blood, but we got there as they closed the door. A quick Google search revealed N1 City was open until 6pm so we went there rather.

Doing our bit to save lives.
Then it was time to do a bit of food shopping and off home after a long day.
Friday morning, I fasted as I went for my annual blood checks at 12pm with the G.P. I buried myself in the studio doing some Circular trees until it was time to head to the doctor.

Off to Dubai.
After the doctor, it was home, scoff some lunch and head out to Tony and Alison in Somerset West. They are over for three months and we were gonna stay over with them Friday night and head to Greyton on the Saturday morning early.

My dear friend Tony catching rays and catching up.
It was great to see the two of them and catch up.
We headed out to the Lourensford Market with them to meet up with all the local Somerset gang. I.E. Tony and Alison’s friends. We caught up and had a bite to eat and a drink. We had a fantastic evening and even ended up dancing to the great band.

Spending quality time with my beautiful wife Joanne.

Nomm Nomm green sauce for the samosa's.

Good friends, good times.
Saturday was the day we were supposed to be up at 7am and head to Greyton. No chance, as I was up all night with what was eventually discovered as a tummy bug. So, we slept in a bit and headed home after a hello and goodbye to Tony and Alison.
We got home and Joanne put me on the couch, and I slept and read my book. We were supposed to go to lunch with Richie and Angelina in Plumstead to Nigiro Café for some dumplings and tea, but that didn’t happen. Well, Richie and Angelina did go and enjoyed the experience. We will book in the future and revert.
Saturday afternoon I got through a good chunk of the Elon Musk Book. It’s quite fascination what he achieved. I have learnt a lot from the book and his life.
Angelina came home and we made a delicious pot of home grown vegetable soup and Joanne made oven baked squashed Sweet Potato. Joanne also harvested a ton of tomatoes from the seeds we got off Jane in Pangbourne. Yes Yes Yes, they are growing like wild fire. Joanne and I are so chuffed.
We had an early night.

Educating myself.
Sunday we up early and took a nice long walk on the beach after I medicated myself with Pectrolite.
I cleaned up the garden and the pool, as the kids were coming over for brunch and a swim. The pool was heated to 27, so that’s a great start.
It is now 11.25am Sunday morning and I am sitting at the kitchen table typing to you while Joanne is doing some admin prep for Monday morning.
Angelina is doing a video for me of the “I LOVE JOHANNESBURG” hand embellished print.

One of the many tomato bushes all staked and ready to produce those bullet tomatoes that are so yummy when roasted.

Here is the Cape Town version I did this week as well.
Thanks for reading and viewing.
Until next week.
